In Character

Bugs Bunny a well known cartoon that every one loves, well everyone except his arch enemy, the one who hunts him, Elmer Fud. Bugs is so likable because he is funny but he's got a mischievous side as well. Bugs loves to tease Eler fud but Elmer never seems to ever get a hold of him to finish his work. Another great character, Lassie is an amazing dog who puts mans best friend to its true meaning. Everyone loves Lassie because of her cute innocent look but also the way she looks after her family. Another character I find very important is Nate from One Tree Hill, even though he isn't the central character I find him very important to the story. In the beginning of the TV show he is the bad guy and after a while he turns into a decent person who becomes a husband and a father who is well respected. I think this is so important because it shows that any one can change no matter how big or a change it is, it can happen with the right motivation. This is so important because it gives people hope to make a change for the better.

Childrens Books

Children stories are important for children because it's educating but besides that it shows them a fantasy life and lets them live in a fantasy world just like cartoons do. Parents read these stories because they want there child to be happy and what’s better than being in a great place where only good things happen. If you have noticed kids books are all fantasy and everything goes perfect. Children get to be happy and get to grow up just a little bit slower because of these books. Kids learn that there are good things out there and that life is a little bit different but that it's fun to be able to be somewhere else, somewhere that’s perfect. Older people read books to get something out of them whether it's a life lesson or actual information. They also read for the same reason as children, to put themselves into a happy place where everything goes as planed. Stories are so important in today’s life because there is so much curiosity and unknown in life that people look for answers and they look for them in these books. My favorite book as a child was green eggs and ham, and no not because I was hungry. This was my favorite book because I though it was very amusing but also I loved the flow of it, how it rhymed and how he made it so similar to children. If children see something that looks nasty, let's say green eggs and ham they probably aren’t going to want to eat it but you don't know it taste nasty you just assume, you judge a book by its cover. Any way at the end of the story he realizes that green eggs end ham are good and that it was worth to risk it and take a chance. He also learned that you can't just judge something or someone just by there looks or what you think you know.

Good stories should have
1. Descriptive characters
2. Well developed setting
3. Some type of lesson
3. Vocab. Choice
4. Appropriate punctuation
5. Connection to reader
6. Pictures (If a children’s book)
7. Good intro and conclusion

Saving a friend

One of my very good friends that I have became very close with in a very short time has started to go down a bad path and has let the people around her influence her. I am trying to be there for her as much as possible especially now more then ever since the only good friends she had seemed to be fake and don't talk to her any more, so in this time of need I'm the only one there for her and I have no problem being that person but she is bringing me down with her which isn't a good choice for me, but I feel like I can't do anything that is going to make a huge change. I have done all I feel I can and it doesn't seem to effect her even though she says she will change, me nor others seem to see it in her. I want to try to help her and put her back on the right path which she once knew because she has a lot of potential, but I must be the only one who sees it in her, she must not. She has been lying to cover up her mistakes but those lies are leading to more lies which are getting her deeper and deeper into this bad situation. In heart she is a really good person but has just made some bad decisions in the past. She used to go to a private school which she has now returned to due to her mothers choice which was chosen because of Edina's bad reflection on her, when she feel in to the wrong crowd. I feel like she is trying to change but it's not doing any good because she is worrying about everyone but herself but then again she is worrying about no one but herself as well. It was such a drastic change if you would have known her 45 months ago you wouldn't believe it's the same person, it's crazy how much the people around you can change you sometimes for the better but in this case for the wrong. She is tearing the real people who care about her the most away from her which is sad to see. I'm stuck in the middle of the whole situation I can't dismiss her because I'm one of the only people she has and she needs me now more then ever, but I also can't get caught up in she drama either because as much talking to her I can do to help change her not much of it will actually influence her and her decisions that she will make.

Freedom-my fav. song/poem

ASHANTI LYRICS

"Freedom"

[Chorus x2:]
Said I'm gone close my eyes
Said I'm gon' live my life
Despite what you think
I'm gone be free I'm a be me

Yeah!

See I ain't never think I would have a situation where the people around me just envy I must replace them
See I always thought the people that watch me grow
Would want to see me blow fa'sho but little did I know
They ain't never really wanna see me smiling.
They couldn't take the fact that I was really shining
And in my heart I knew they was wishing I was stop
Cause they don't me to rise and be on top.
And all that jealousy and hate
Can be right in front of your face
And it's gone hurt for you to see
But it ain't your fault just let it be

So I'm gone close my eyes
And I'm gone live my life
Despite what you think Im'a be free cause Im'a be me. [x2]

See everybody wanna have something to talk about
So they pointing their fingers and always running their mouths.
No matter how you try to satisfy someone else giving so much of yourself yo love but it's never enough.
The more you give them the more want they ain't happy
And they don't see all you do to make 'em happy
They don't appreciate it till you walk away
But you don't want to hear by now it's too late.
And all that jealousy and hate
Can be right in front of your face
And it's gone hurt for you to see
But it ain't your fault just let it be.

So I'm gone close my eyes
And I'm gone live my life
Despite what you think Im'a be free cause Im'a be me. [x2]

What they don't understand is that Im'a keep livin my life and surviving
Im'a keep pushing and striving and climbing and grinding
Cause ain't no time to be crying I been providing with the strength to carry my way
And Im'a be ok cause I'm gone live my life my way
And u can say what u wanna say it wont affect the way I'm living I'm winning by being free again

So I'm gone close my eyes
And I'm gone live my life
Despite what you think Im'a be free cause Im'a be me. [x2]

I choose this song because it's one of my favorite songs and because when I'm sad or mad about something, if I just listen to this song it makes everything better. I can relate to what she's saying because that's high school, people hating on one another because of jealousy and this song makes me realize that it's a compliment even though it makes us sad or angry. The title freedom is a good title for it because it's not obvious but it does make sense. Ashanti named it freedom because once you realize the concept of what she is saying your free, you have freedom from all the drama and haters. "Im'a be free cause Im'a be me," she say's this a lot to show you that being yourself is all you will need to be free because your being the person God wanted you to be. She uses the imagery of closing her eyes, because when your eyes are closed your free and at peace. The tone of her voice in this song is kind of sad and uplifting at the same time, a quite tone but at the same time she gets mad and snaps, this song includes many different tones.

Me as a writer and writing territories

I like to read poetry, music lyrics and novels. I like to read poetry that rhymes and has meaning as well as coming of age novels. I like to write music, like R&B music, poetry and short stories. I like to write about previous experiences and future accomplishments, love and romance I find interesting to write about. Outside of school I don't write to often, I used to write music a lot but haven't had the time for it in a while but would like to return to it. I also don't read to much outside of school either, I would like to but I often find myself to busy to complete a book. I really enjoy writing about a fictional character that I wish I was or a character which is the opposite of me just to imagine how my life could have been different.

-Lies-
Lies, lies, lies
Lies are unwanted and unnecessary
Lies create dishonesty
Lies spread more lies
lies are hard to forgive
lies turn people fake
lies create drama
lies make distrust
lies not for me
lies not to me
lies, lies, lies

Playwrite Reflection

One thing I found very frustrating about the playwright was my first idea I wanted to use I was not able to because of the setting i would need which would have been impossible to get through on a stage. One good part about writing a play is it goes very quite and it's an easy write once you get started. An unpleasant thing about writing a short play is that it's hard to tell the whole story with in a couple of pages.

In today’s world if I could tell a 10 year old anything to try to help them in life, I would tell them two things. That your parents and friends you should cherish and treat them the best possible because they are the ones that are always there and when you grow up you realize your parents where there to help you and that you could have treated them better. I would also tell them that there are haters out there who's goal is to bring you down but you can't let them you have to realize that your better then that and there hating for a reason...jealousy. Also it's not worth it and nether are they don't waste your life worrying about them just live your life to the fullest but as a good person. I would give them this advice because I would want them to have a drama free life that they can life with as little problems as possible.

Literature that lasts a long time is the stuff that changes your life and makes you a better person. A book that makes you realize something you didn't know about and has a strong theme which is portrayed, a theme that gives you an epiphany. I would hope to be lucky enough to write something that could last for centuries but I think it's very unlikely but anything is possible. I think in order to write something like that you would have to be a person who knows people and life.

Theme & Playwrights

I believe theme is very important in writing an amazing novel or playwright. A good book or play is one that changes you or makes you feel after you have read it and it can only do that with a theme. For example a book called Freedom Writers Diaries, the central theme is that one person can make a change and this is a great book because it inspires you to make a change for the better, whether it is for you or others. Some books don't need a theme though, like little kids books and sci-fi books as well. A theme I'm considering using in my playwright is the theme of picking your believes over fame and fortune. For example say you get a recording deal and you want to write your own music for your songs, and the record label tells you we are going to make you big and you’re going to make a lot of money but we have a professional writer writing the music. What do you do? Pick fame and fortune or you say you can't do it with out, you writing the music and risk loosing the record deal. A conflict in my play would be one of your best friends who you have known since you were little didn't like the fact that you made it big and they didn't, how would you react to knowing someone your whole life and all a sudden they are someone you have never met, some who gets gallous and starts to hate on you because of your fame.

What I think

I feel that in order to become a good writer being a experienced reader is very important because it's like saying someone is going to become a R&B musician when you have never heard R&B before, it's impossible. You must have experience in what you’re doing in order to be good at it. You also need to be a good reader due to the fact that, if you compare a person who reads a lot of books and someone who reads every once in a while, the more experienced reader is going to have a much bigger vocabulary, better grammar and spelling. Something in the world that is a big part of high school that really concerns me is that there are people going around talking stuff about other people who they shouldn’t be concerned with. Then the people who are getting talked about find out that someone was talking stuff, they get all worked up and a fight becomes about. Drama is a big part of high school now days, due to all the people who have the need to hate on someone else for whatever the reason is. My concern isn’t even for these situations it's for what the man above thinks about what this world has become for not just the adults but the kids as well. Like Aaliyah said "We need a resolution."I have many songs that have inspired me but two that are a major influence and anyone who reads this I encourage to listen to these songs, Nelly-Die for you and Ashanti-Freedom. Die for you by Nelly is a song about his children just saying that he would do anything for them and that he would die for them, basically his love for his children. This song is very important to me and a huge influence due to the fact that I feel that I was raised with that much love and I hope to raise my kids with that much love, enough love to die for them if that be the case. Freedom by Ashanti, probably my favorite song in the world, a song that heals me every time I'm sad. Freedom is a song talking about what ever you have to say about me and what ever you think about me that is negative it's not my problem it's your own, because this portrays you as a gallous hater and that I'm only gone feed off you hatred because it only makes me stronger and motivates me. At the end of the day I'm going to be free because I'm going to be me.
